IHSFCA All-State Football Teams Named

The Illinois High School Football Coaches Association released the All-State teams in each class from 1A to 8A.

Cumberland and Newton had a player each earn Honorable Mention status.

Cumberland's Iysten Syfert, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound senior linebacker and running back, earned HM in Class 1A.

Newton's Ben Meinhart, a 5-foot-8, 150-pound senior, wide receiver and defensive back earned Honorable Mention honors.in Class 3A

In Class 2A, two Vandalia players reached Honorable Mention, Matthew Hagy, quarterback/defensive back, and Carson Ruot, wide receiver/defensive back.

Mount Zion's Christian Keyhea, a wide receiver/running back, earned Class 4A All-State honors while teammate Ryne Buttz, an OL/DL, earned Honorable Mention in Class 4A.

Mattoon's Aidan Spurgeon, a linebacker/offensive lineman, earned All-State honors in Class 5A. Also in 5A, Mahomet-Seymour's Nick Golden, a linebacker, was named Honorable Mention.
