Panthers Place QB On Injured Reserve

The Carolina Panthers have placed quarterback Cam Newton on injured reserve. Newton has been sidelined with a foot injury sustained in a Week 2 loss against Tampa Bay. The move means Newton can’t return until the playoffs.

 

 

Jaguars To Go With QB Foles

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone has announced that he’ll go with quarterback Nick Foles over rookie sensation Gardner Minshew when the team faces Indianapolis following its bye week. Foles had been sidelined with a broken collarbone.

 

Chargers' Owner Denies Reports

Los Angeles Chargers owner Dean Spanos is denying those reports that say the team is interested in moving to London. Spanos didn’t mince any words, calling the story “Total (expletive) (expletive).” 

 

College Playoff Ranking Out

The first College Football Playoff ranking of the season is out and it has Ohio State in the top spot. LSU is next, followed by Alabama and Penn State. Of course, the poll will likely change next week as LSU and Alabama square off on Saturday.

 

Fleck Agrees To Extension

Head coach P.J. Fleck has agreed to a seven-year extension with the University of Minnesota. Fleck has been one of the names mentioned in connection with the Florida State head coaching vacancy and the job likely to become available at USC.
