Seahawks' Browner Sentenced To Eight Years

Former Seattle Seahawks star Brandon Browner was sentenced to eight years in prison Tuesday after pleading no contest to attempted murder. Browner was accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's apartment in California last July and attempting to smother her in a carpet while her two children were present.


Bills Waive Benjamin, Holmes

The Buffalo Bills have waived veteran wide receivers Kelvin Benjamin and Andre Holmes. At 4-8, the Bills have opted to evaluate younger receivers in recent weeks.


Ellison Placed on Administrative Leave

The NFL has placed official Roy Ellison on administrative leave while it investigates reports he called Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes a vulgar name during Buffalo’s game at Miami on Sunday. Ellison was also suspended in 2013 for making a derogatory statement to Washington tackle Trent Williams during a game.


Ohio State Coach Stepping Down

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer is stepping down at the end of the season due to health issues. Meyer will coach the team for the final time in the Rose Bowl against Washington on January 1st and then turn things over to offensive coordinator Ryan Day. Meyer has a record of 82-9 in seven seasons at Ohio State, including a national title in 2014.
