CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois Director of Athletics Tom Michael has announced that the contract for head football coach Kim Dameron will not be renewed.

The Panthers completed the 2018 season with a 38-32 loss at No. 23 Southeast Missouri on Saturday as the Panthers were 3-8 for the season.

Dameron completed his fifth season as the Panthers head coach with an overall record of 27-30 which included a trip to the 2015 FCS playoffs.

“I would like to thank Coach Dameron, his family and staff for their work at Eastern Illinois over the past five years.  These are never easy decisions to make but I felt that it was in the best interest of our program and players to go in a new direction with Eastern Illinois football next year.”

A national search for Dameron’s replacement will begin immediately.
