Washington Redskins quarterback Alex Smith suffered two broken bones in his right leg in Sunday’s loss to Houston in an injury eerily reminiscent of Joe Theismann’s career-ending injury.

It took place exactly 33 years after Theismann’s injury, with both games in Washington ending 23-21. Theismann was tackled by 3-time Defensive Player of the Year Lawrence Taylor near the 40-yard line, while Smith was tackled by 3-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt near the 40.

Redskins To Bring In QBs

With Alex Smith out and only having Colt McCoy on the roster, the Redskins will bring in a group of quarterbacks to work out today. Those quarterback will include EJ Manuel, T.J. Yates and Mark Sanchez, but apparently not Colin Kaepernick.

Browns Deny Reports

The Cleveland Browns deny reports that they plan to interview former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for their head coaching job. Despite being a huge Browns fan, Rice said she’s not ready to coach, but called on the league to hire more women in coaching positions.
