St. Anthony's Isabella Keller Third At Nike XC Town Twilight Race

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Effingham St. Anthony's Isabella Keller finished in third place at the Nike XC Town Twilight Saturday.

The Bulldogs competed as a team while Keller, a freshman, raced in the 5,000 Meters USA Race of Champions. She finished third with a time of 17:06.6. She went up against two of the most recruited runners in the country. Zariel Mocchia of William Floyd finished first in 17:01.0 while Nicki Southerland just edged Keller for second in 17:06.3.

St. Anthony's girls squad finished 27th out of 54 teams in the 5,000 Meters with 703 points. Aubrey Denning captured fourth place with a time of 20:18 in the 5,000 Meter U.S. Open No. 2 followed by Stacie Vonderheide 10th in 20:48, Emma Helmink 49th in 22:08.2, Grace Niebrugge 189th in 25:38.2 and Ava Faber 199th in 26:07.6.

North Clay had two girls competing. Brooke Koelm was 31st in 23:56.7 and Maddie Ayers 615th in 30:51.8.

Carmel won the girls team championship with 93 points.

In the boys 5,000 Meters USA Open No. 2, St. Anthony finished 75th with 2,127 points. Winning was Mount Prospect with 103. There were 86 teams in the meet.

Aidan Brauencker finished 279th in 18:54.7, Oliver Kreke 349th in 19:34.8, Noah Flaig 362nd in 19:43.5, Elliot Frisbee 400th in 20:18.8, James Emmerich 418th in 20:41.3 and Calvin Sudkamp in 450th in 21:17.3.

North Clay was 85th with 2,498 points. Zane Groves finished 412th in 18:41.7, Cooper Givens 872nd in 22:11.2, Hunter Webb-Ord 874th in 22:11.2, Wyatt Pritchard 875th in 22:11.7 and Ethan Gibbons 925th in 23:41.4.
