EJHS Compete at Parkside XC Meet Saturday; Other JH Action

EJHS XC ran at the Parkside Cross Country Meet in Normal on Saturday. 

There were 1987 total runners in all 4 events (385 boys varsity, 684 boys open, 361 girls varsity, 558 girls open). See all results here: https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/meet/227700/info

8th grader Emery Spicer led the girls placing 8 out of 361 runners with her personal best and school record of 12.30.7 for the 2 mile course. 8th grader Alaina Miller placed 90th and 7th graders Laynee Pankau placed 187th and Bailee Kruger placed 203rd, 6th graders Kloey Bierman placed 234th and Kenley Moore placed 237th. Pankau, Kruger, Bierman and Moore all ran personal bests. 7th grader Aleece Lotz rounded out Effingham's top 7 placing in 272nd place.

For the boys, 8th graders Carson Fox and TJ Raddatz led the Mustangs placing 80th and 84th out of 385 boys.  7th grader Mason Overbeck finished in 140th place followed closely by 6th grader Jared Klingler in 142nd place. 8th grader Alex McFarland came in 166th place. 6th grader Maddux Wyckoff placed 191st while 7th grader Tristen Smith finished 231st for the Mustang Varsity. Klingler, Wyckoff and Smith all ran personal bests.

For the girls open, Effingham was led by 7th grader Taylor Davis, placing 179th out of 558 girls followed by 8th grader Emily Loew placing 244th place. Both girls had personal bests.

For the boys open, Effingham was led by 8th grader Caden Loew placing 165th out of 684 runners.  8th graders Keaton Kellams was second for EJHS in the boys open placing 170th. Other runners who had personal bests were 6th graders Christopher Repking, Graham Wendling, 7th graders Joel Flack, Julie Larsen, Adelynn Schoonover, 8th graders Rachel Boone and Allie Wendling.

In junior high action in Shelbyville on Saturday, Shelbyville Moulton won the girls meet, while Charleston won the boys meet.

St. Anthony boys results: Camden Bloemer 1st in 11:33, Mike Fearday 14th, Max Schuette 33rd, James Uebinger 36th, Grayson Bloemer 39th, Braxton Schultz 46th, Reed Schumacher 79th. Also, Jackson Settle finished second in the open race and Marty Scheidemantel finished in the top 15.
