St. Anthony Seventh At Cow Chip Classic

CHRISMAN -- The Effingham St. Anthony High School girls cross country team finished seventh at the Chrisman Cow Chip Cross Country Classic Saturday.

Taking first place was Monticello with 11 points followed by Mahomet-Seymour 22, Tolono Unity 27, St. Joseph-Ogden 32, Champaign St. Thomas More 39, Uni-High 46, St. Anthony 49 and Villa Grove 89. Not scoring was Tuscola.

St. Anthony's Emmie Schultz and Carson Fonner captured third places in their respective races. Fonner took third in the No. 1 race with a time of 20:05. Schultz finished third in the No. 3 race with a time of 21:26.

In the open, Spraul was 26th in 29:14, Bushue was 31st in 33:31 and McGuire was 33rd in 39:42.

In the boys meet, Monticello won with 16 points followed by Champaign St. Thomas More 17, St. Joseph-Ogden 24, Uni-High 27, Robinson 43, Chrisman 56, Oakwood 71, Tuscola 71, Bismarck-Henning 74 and Cumberland 86.

In the Open Race, Cumberland's Shaon finished 76th in 28:06.
