Effingham High School claimed a 42-34 win over Flora in opening round play of the Bob Kerans Girls Basketball Tournament Tuesday evening.

"Caitlin hit four huge threes for us in the first quarter and that was the margin that put us ahead and we played pretty even from there," said EHS Coach Jeff  Schafer. "Flora did a nice job on Caitlin and Josie and our other kids stepped up. Josie did a great job on the boards. We cut our turnovers down to eight tonight which is a great number. We need a good performance tomorrow against Mount Zion."
