Sigel St. Michael captured the championship of its own Class 8-1A Girls Basketball Regional Wednesday evening.

St. Michael defeated Pocahontas, 40-22. St. Michael will move on to the Pana Sacred Heart Sectional Wednesday, December 6 to face the winner of the Pana Sacred Heart Regional. The host squad won over Decatur Unity, 47-7.

 

Class 8-2A Casey-Westfield Regional

Paris Crestwood ended any hopes Stewardson-Strasburg had of a regional title with a 34-30 victcory.

Paris Crestwood advances to the St. Anthony Sectional to face Altamont Wednesday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m.

 

Class 8-3A Cumberland Regional

Teutopolis came out the champion in the Cumberland Regional in a low-scoring contest.

The Wooden Shoes defeated Paris Mayo, 18-14.

Paris Mayo held a 2-0 first quarter lead but T-town moved ahead 7-2 at halftime then had a 4-3 third quarter. Paris Mayo trailed 11-5 going into the final period and had a 9-8 run but T-town captured the victory.

Ella Willenborg led the way with 15 points for the Shoes who are now 17-6 on the season.

T-town advances to the Pana Sectional against Arthur Wednesday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. Arthur won the Tuscola E. Prairie Regional over Sullivan, 42-12.

Class 8-3A Cumberland Regional

Class 8-4A Effingham Regional

Mount Zion claimed the championship of the Effingham Regional with a 43-13 victory over Taylorville.

Mount Zion advances to the Chatham Glenwood Sectional Wednesday, December 6 to face Chatham Glenwood, a 24-22 winner over Springfield Franklin in its own reginoal championship.
