Sigel St. Michael moved into the championship game of its own Class 8-1A Girls Basketball Regional with a victory Monday.

The Sharpshooters pounded Mulberry Grove, 44-12.

In the second contest, Pocahontas won over Ramsey, 32-16.

St. Michael will meet Pocahontas at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the regional championship.

 

Class 8-2A Edwards County (Albion) Regional

North Clay (Louisville) and Altamont moved into the championship game of the Albion Regional Monday.

North Clay defeated South Central, 28-23 and improved to 15-5 on the season.

Altamont edged Edwards County (Albion), 26-24.

North Clay and Altamont meet at 6 p.m. today for the regional title.

 

Class 8-2A casey-Westfield Regional

Stewardson-Strasburg picked up a victory in the Casey-Westfield Regional Monday.

In the opening contest, Paris Crestwood won over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 54-13.

Stew-Stras then defeated Casey-Westfield, 34-28.

Stewardson-Strasburg will now face Paris Crestwood at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the regional championship.

 

Class 8-4A Effingham Regional

Mount Zon and Taylorville will meet for the regional championship after picking up victories Monday evening.

Mount Zion trounced Stephen Decatur, 46-7 while Taylorville won over Rochester, 31-28.

Taylorville and Mount Zion square off at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the championship.

 

Class 8-3A Cumberland Regional

No games were contested Monday evening.

Tonight's games include Paris Mayo against Robinson Nuttall at 6 p.m.

In the second contest, Jasper County and Teutopolis meet at 7:15 p.m.

The winners advance to the regional championship at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
