TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis Junior High School hosted Mount Zion and Troy Triad in boys basketball Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes won both the seventh- and eighth-grade games over Mount  Zion.

In seventh-grade play, T-town edged out to an 8-6 opening quarter lead but the score was knotted at 11-11 at halftime. T-town then had a 22-13 second half for a 33-24 win.

Sam Probst led the way for the Shoes with 16 points.

In eighth-grade play, T-town again stepped out to an early lead, 22-16 at halftime but Mount Zion came back in the second half to tie the scoring, sending the game into overtime. T-town then had a 6-3 run for the 50-47 victory.

Jake Probst tallied 18 points while Eric Weidner added 13.

In the contests against Triad, T-town again was the winner in both.

The Shoes broke an 8-8 opening quarter tie in the seventh-grade game with an 8-2 second period and finished with a 34-24 victory.

Grant Tegeler tallied 14 points to lead the Shoes.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town trailed Triad 7-4 after the opening quarter but moved ahead 14-9 at halftime then had a 15-10 third quarter. The Shoes finished with a 38-26 win.

J. Probst scored 14 for the winners.

In the games featuring Mount Zion and Triad, Mount Zion won the seventh-grade contest 29-23 and Triad took the eighth-grade game, 34-30.

At Altamont

Altamont and St. Elmo/Brownstown split victories in Friday evening action.

SEB was a 57-19 winner in the seventh-grade game.

SEB held a 27-7 opening quarter lead and never looked back.

Mason Schaub, Jaxson Seabaugh and Cory Stufflebeam all finished in double figures with 12 each.

Altamont was led by Aiden Merrick with eight points.

In the eighth-grade game, Altamont captured a 48-41 victory.

Altamont edged out to a 14-13 opening quarter lead and led 28-19 at halftime. SEB came back with a 10-6 third quarter run to pull within 34-28 but Altamont finished with a 14-12 final quarter.

Cage led the way for Altamont with 17 points while Durbin added 14.

SEB was led by Easton Wehrle with 18 points and Kamden Tompkins with 14.
