MOUNT ZION -- Effingham St. Anthony fell victim to Mount Zion in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Saturday.

Mount Zion won the seventh-grade contest, 31-17. Mount Zion held a 17-8 halftime lead then had a 12-3 third period run.

Bella Schultz led the way for the Bullpups with 12 points.

In eighth-grade action, Mount Zion was a 47-10 winner. Mount Zion ripped out to a 21-1 opening quarter lead.

Nora Niebrugge led the way for St. Anthony with four points.

At Effingham

Bethalto was a 31-10 winner over Effingham in seventh-grade action Saturday.

Bethalto held a 10-0 opening quarter lead and led 24-2 at halftime.

Effingham was led by Abby Johnson with six points.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis spilt victories with Mount Zion Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game, 29-12. T-town zipped out to an 11-2 opening quarterl ead and has a 12-1 third quarter run.

Grace Martin led the Shoes with 10 points. T-town improved to 16-1.

In eighth-grade play, T-town fell to Mount Zion, 40-17. Mount Zion held an 8-5 opening quarter lead and pushed that to 23-11 at halftime.

Ella Willenborg scored seven points for the Shoes who dropped to 11-6.

At Louisville

North Clay downed Flora in eighth-grade action Friday. 31-16.

In the seventh-grade contest, Flora was an 18-8 winner.

North Clay's eighth-grade squad is 13-5 overall.
