Sigel St. Michael and Neoga moved into the championship game of the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament Thursday.

The Sharpshooters defeated Brownstown/St. Elmo, 31-13.

Neoga was a 36-7 winner over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

In today's contests, North Clay (Louisville) and Effingham Sacred Heart will meet at 6 p.m. and Altamont will face Dieterich at 6:45 in consolation bracket play.

The finals are scheduled for Saturday. St. Michael will face Neoga at 11:30 a.m. for the championship.

Brownstown/St. Elmo and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City will square off at 10:15 a.m. for third place.

The winners of tonight's games will meet at 9 a.m. for the consolation championship.

 

At Robinson

Effingham St. Anthony traveled to Robinson and suffered losses in seventh- and eighth-grade action Thursday.

Robinson won the seventh-grade contest, 32-17. Robinson opened up a 12-3 opening quarter lead and led 22-3 at halftime.

Sylvia Semple led the way for the Bullpups with seven points.

In eighth-grade play, Robinson was a 35-12 winner, taking a 24-7 halftime lead.

Carly Budde, Rylee Fearday and Nora Niebrugge led St. Anthony with three points each.
