Neoga and Effingham St. Anthony split victories in junior high girls basketball Tuesday.

Neoga claimed the seventh-grade contest, 28-24. Neoga held a 13-7 halftime lead then held off the Bullpups in the second half.

Bear had 12 points to lead Neoga. St. Anthony was led by Bella Schultz with eight points.

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony was a 33-16 winner. The Bullpups zipped out to a 23-6 halftime lead.

Cheyenne Barker led with eight points while Carly Budde added seven points.

Neoga was led by Conder with eight points.

At Sullivan

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg tallied one victory while Sullivan picked up the other win Tuesday.

WSS was a winner in eighth-grade action, 23-17. Leading the way was Wittenberg with 12 points and Vonderheide with eight.

WSS stepped out to an 8-2 opening quarter lead but led only 10-9 at halftime. Windsor/Stew-Stras then had an 8-5 third quarter and held on for the victory. WSS improved to 3-0.

In seventh-grade play, Sullivan took off to a 15-0 opening quarter lead and WSS could never recover in a 34-6 loss.

M. Manhart led the way for WSS with four points. The squad dropped to 0-3 on the season.

At Vandalia

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City easily captured the seventh-grade contest over Vandalia by a 20-2 count Thursday.

The lone two points scored for Vandalia were in the opening quarter. CHBC held a 12-2 halftime lead.

Valentina Doty and Harper Lilly scored eight points each for the winners who improve to 3-1 overall.

In eighth-grade play, Vandalia pulled out a 24-22 victory.

CHBC ran out to an 11-1 opening quarter lead and led 13-7 at halfitme. Vandalia came back with a 10-2 third period to pull ahead 17-15 going into the final quarter and held on.

Ethel Stuckemeyer led CHBC with eight points as the team dropped to 2-2.

 At Teutopolis

Teutopolis captured two wins over North Clay (Louisville) Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade contest by a 42-2 count. T-town held a 24-2 halftime lead.

Drees tallied 10 points while Caulkins and Brummer added six each.

North Clay was led by Compton with two points.

In eighth-grade play, T-town was a 36-18 winner. The Shoes held a 20-5 halftime lead.

A. Probst scored 10 while E. Willenborg added nine and T. McMahon eight for the Shoes.

North Clay was led by Zink with nine points.

At Dieterich

Dieterich won over Altamont in two games while Altamont captured the third contest Tuesday.

Dieterich was a 24-2 winner in sixth-grade play. Mackenzie Roedl led the way with eight points.

Dieterich also claimed the seventh-grade game, 13-9. Claire Faller and Melanie Niemerg had four points each.

Altamont was 42-8 winner in eighth-grade play. Allison Boerngen and Payton Higgins had three points each for Dieterich.
