BEECHER CITY -- Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City tallied two victories over Neoga in junior high girls basketball during the weekend.

CHBC was a 25-17 winner in seventh-grade play. The Bobcats held a 13-2 first half lead then held off Neoga in the second half.

Elaina Thompson led the way for the winners with 12 points while Harper Lilly had eight.

Neoga was led by Lola Hartke with six points.

CHBC evened its record at 1-1 in the National Trail Conference, 1-1 overall.

In the eighth-grade contest, CHBC downed Neoga, 31-14. The Bobcats had a 13-8 opening halftime lead then had an 18-6 second half.

Allison Shields tallied 17, connecting on eight field goals and a free throw.

Neoga was led by Jadyn Cole with six points.

CHBC is now 2-0 in the conference and overall.

At Sigel

Dieterich fell twice in the Sigel St. Michael Tournament Saturday.

St. Michael was a 42-6 winner in the opener. Allison Boerngen, Ava Claire Niemerg and Claire Faller had two points each for Dieterich.

Dieterich then lost to Vandalia 26-20. Payton Huggins and Niemerg had seven points each for Dieterich while Boerngen added four and Ava Ohnesorge 2.
