NEOGA -- Altamont trailed Neoga early but regrouped and got on a roll for an 82-55 boys high school basketball win as two National Trail Conference teams met Tuesday evening.

Neoga ran out to a 7-0 opening quarter lead and held a 12-3 lead. But Altamont came back to tie the score at 21-21 at the end of the period.

Quintin Richards led the way for Neoga with nine points while Landon Titus hit a three-pointer and a regular basket for five and Brady Reynolds also connected on a three-pointer and two free throws for five.

Altamont, meanwhile, was led by Mason Robinson with four baskets for eight points and Eric Kollmann with six points. Dillan Elam hit a three-pointer.

Altamont maintained control from that point on and had a 16-10 second period to lead 37-31 at halftime.

Altamont then went on a 26-10 third quarter run as Robinson added to his point total with nine more and Avery Jahraus had seven.

Four players hit double figures for Altamont. Robinson led the way with 22 points on nine field goals that included two three-pointers and was two of two at the line. Dillan Elam chipped in with 12, Jahraus had 11 and Kollmann finished with 10.

Neoga was led by Richards with 26 points on nine field goals, three from trifecta land and Trey Sheehan added 13.

Altamont is 5-0 in the NTC and 22-3 overall.

Altamont claimed the junior varsity game, 63-27.

At Toledo

Cumberland played host to St. Elmo/Brownstown and it was a close one as the homestanders pulled out a 46-45 win Tuesday.

The Pirates tore out to a 16-7 opening quarter lead as Trevin Magee and Jaxon Boldt scored five each and Gavin Hendrix chipped in with four.

Cumberland held a 26-20 halftime lead as St. Elmo/Brownstown had a 13-10 second period run. Adam Atwood hit four baskets for eight in the quarter and Brody Mason hit a three-pointer.

SEB continued on with a 13-6 third quarter to move in to a 33-32 lead going into the final period. Cade Schaub scored six points in the quarter and Mason added another three-pointer.

Cumberland then had a 14-12 final quarter run for the one-point victory. Hendrix hit two free throws and two baskets for six points while Magee and Bryant Weber added a three each and Maddox McElravy hit a basket.

Hendrix finished with 16 points while Magee added 12.

SEB was led by Schaub with 13 and Atwood with 10.

At Dieterich

Dieterich trailed Martinsville 24-20 at halftime then had a 42-23 second half for a 62-47 victory Tuesday evening.

The Movin' Maroons held a 13-8 opening quarter lead but Martinsville came back with a 16-7 run in the second period. The Bluestreaks' Lowry scored seven of those points.

But Dieterich didn't mess around in the third quarter as Caleb Gephart scored seven on a two-pointer, a three-pointer and two of two at the line while Lucas Westendorf tallied seven on three field goals and one of two at the line. Cole Will and Dane Curry connected on a three-pointer each.

Dieterich then continued on with an 18-16 final period. Westendorf went to work, scoring 14 points and finished with 25 for the game. Westendorf hit nine field goals, two three-pointers, and was five of seven at the line.

Gephart finished with 21 on eight field goals, two three-pointers and three of three at the line. The Maroons connected on eight of 10 from the free throw line.

At Dieterich

At Casey

Teutopolis came away from this road trip with a 55-40 victory over Casey-Westfield Tuesday evening.

The two teams were tied at 11-11 after the opening quarter. The Wooden Shoes then moved into a 23-16 halftime lead with a 12-5 second period run. Caleb Siemer nailed three baskets for six points in the quarter and Garrett Gaddis added a three-pointer.

The Shoes continued on with a 17-14 third period to lead 40-30 going into the final quarter. Siemer continued with his scoring run on four field goals and two of two at the line for 10 points.

T-town finished strong with a 15-11 final period as Brendan Niebrugge scored five of his total seven points and Gaddis added two three-pointers and tallied 12 for the game on four three-pointers.

Siemer led the way for the Shoes with 18 points on eight field goals and two of two at the line. The Shoes are now 20-7 on the season.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City moved into the early lead and never looked back in a 60-47 win over Patoka Tuesday evening.

The Bobcats had a 19-10 opening quarter lead behind Gage Lorton's nine points and Clayton Wojcik's five points.

CHBC led 30-21 at halftime and 44-29 going into the final quarter.

Patoka came back with a slight 18-16 final period but CHBC connected on its free throws, hitting eight of 10 led by Wojcik with eight points and Carter Bain with five.

Four players hit double figures for the Bobcats. Lorton led the way with seven field goals and four of six at the line for 18 points. Wojcik finished with 13 while Bain and AJ Radloff scored 10 each.

Patoka won the junior varsity game, 49-43 and a freshman/sophomore contest, 21-0.

Tolono Unity held an 18-13 opening quarter lead on Newton but that was it as the Eagles went on to take a 25-24 halftime lead then put the game away with a 46-33 second half for the 71-57 win Tuesday.

Caden Nichols tallied 25 points for the winners, hitting seven field goals that included four three-pointers, and was seven of nine at the line. Kye Bergbower added 15 and Dylan Gier 13. The Eagles were 15 of 18 from the free throw line and finished with six three-pointers.

Newton is now 18-9 on the season and returns to action Friday at Olney.

At Louisville

Richland County came calling and picked up a 57-51 non-conference win over North Clay (Louisville) Tuesday.

Richland County took a 19-13 opening quarter lead but the Cardinals tied the score at halftime, 25-25.

The winners then had a 17-12 third period and outscored North Clay 15-14 in the final quarter.

Richland County connected on nine three-pointers in the game.

The Cardinals had three players finish in double digits. Logan Flener led the way with nine field goals and one of two at the line for 19 points. Levi Smith and Alex Boose added 10 points each.

Richland County also won the junior varsity game, 56-52. North Clay was led by Carder Walden with 17 points, Jesse Weidner with 14 and Mason Byers with 10.

At Louisville
