NOKOMIS -- Altamont advanced to the championship game of the Class 7-2A Nokomis Boys Basketball Regional with a victory Tuesday evening.

Altamont handed Assumption Central A&M a 30-20 loss.

In the second game, Nokomis downed Stewardson-Strasburg, 33-27.

Altamont will face Nokomis Thursday for the regional championship.

 

Class 7-3A Sullivan Regional

Teutopolis ran out to a 20-1 opening quarter lead and had a 25-7 third period run. The Shoes tallied a 61-19 victory over Sullivan to advance to the championship game of the Class 7-3A Sullivan Regional.

The Shoes were led by Jake Probst with 18, Payne Davidson with 12 and Dylan Horn with 11. T-town hit 65 percent from the field with 28 of 43 shots. Davidson led in assists with four and Horn had four steals.

In the second game, Tuscola E. Prairie edged Decatur Johns Hill, 34-31.

T-town will now face Decatur Johns Hill Thursday at 6 p.m. for the regional championship.

Class 3A Sullivan Regional

At Lousiville

Effingham played a regular season eighth-grade game against North Clay (Louisville) Tuesday and was a 49-36 winner.

The Mustangs edged out to a 7-6 opening quarter lead and then took a 16-9 second period to lead 23-15 at halftime.

Effingham had a 26-21 second half. Maxx Kistler led the Mustangs with 13 points while Giovanni Santillian added 11.

Leading North Clay was Griffy with 23 points.

Effingham returns to action in the Class 8-4A Mount Zion Regional against the host squad Saturday at 10 a.m.
