Effingham Pounds Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville

OBLONG -- Effingham High School pounded Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine 83-27 in a boys regular season basketball contest Tuesday evening.

The Hearts stepped out to a 30-3 opening quarter lead. Garrett Wolfe led the way with eight points while Andrew Donaldson and Andrew Splechter scored seven points each. Logan Heil added six.

The Hearts then had a 25-8 second period to lead 55-11 at halftime. Donaldson went on a three-point run, knocking in three for nine points while Splechter continued his run with three baskets and two free throws for eight.

Three players finished in double figures for the Hearts. Donaldson and Splechter led the way with 17 points each. Donaldson connected on six field goals, that included four three-pointers, and was one of two at the line while Splechter hit six field goals and was five of six at the line.
