Effingham captured both seventh- and eighth-grade boys basketball victories over Hume Shiloh Tuesday.

The Mustangs won the seventh-grade contest, 53-11. Effingham ripped out to an 18-2 opening quarter lead and never looked back.

James Wendt tallied 12 points while Jenner Pals added nine and Carson Fox eight for the winners.

Effingham is now 11-4 on the season.

The Effingham eighth-grade B team claimed a 40-33 win. Effingham held a 14-2 opening quarter lead.

Giovanni Santillian tallied 14 points for the Mustangs while Jack Hartman added 10. The B squad is 3-0.
