Edwards Co. Beats South Central In Tourney

WAYNE CITY -- Edwards County (Albion) handed South Central a 52-38 loss in the Conrad Allen Boys Basketball Tournament Monday evening.

Edwards County took an 18-10 opening quarter lead and led 28-16 at halftime. The Cougars came back with a 15-7 third quarter run to pull within 35-31 but Edwards County started clicking again offensively in the final period with a 17-7 run.

Edwards County knocked in 11 three-pointers.

South Central was led by Aiden Dodson with 13 points and Ethan Watwood added nine.

In other games Monday evening, Gallatin County beat Grayville, 90-60 and Webber Township (Bluford) won over Hamilton County JV, 53-24.

The tournament continues tonight with North Clay (Louisville) against Grayville at 5:30 p.m. followed by South Central meeting Lovejoy at 7 and Sandoval against Wayne City at 8:30.
