CASEY -- Effingham St. Amthony and Casey-Westfield split junior high boys basketball wins Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs nabbed the seventh-grade game by a 40-9 count. St. Anthony led 19-6 at halftime then had a 17-0 third quarter run.

Conner Storm led nine players who scored with 10 points.

The Bulldogs are now 5-0 on the season.

In the eighth-grade game, St. Anthony edged ahead 10-7 after one quarter and held a slight 17-16 halftime lead. The Bulldogs had a 13-10 third quarter to lead 30-26 but Casey-Westfield came back in the final quarter with a 15-1 charge to pull out the win.

M. Waldhoff led St. Anthony with 15 points, connecting on four three-pointers. The Bulldogs drop to 1-2.

At Mount Zion

Effingham fell to Mount Zion in eighth-grade action, 35-22 Tuesday.

Mount Zion took a 9-2 opening quarter lead. The two teams played even in the second and third quarters and Mount Zion held a 24-17 lead then finished out with an 11-5 final period.

Carter Braddy led the way for the Mustangs with 15 points.

At Neoga

South Central was a winner over Neoga in both contests Tuesday.

In the seventh-grade game, South Central tallied a 25-10 victory. The winners led 11-2 at halftime then had a 14-8 second half.

Two players hit double digits for the winners. Colton Cartright tallied 12 and Aiden Hoover 11.

Neoga was led by B. Sparrow and G. Ballinger with four points each.

In the eighth-grade contest, South Central led 23-9 at halftime and went on for a 44-18 victcory.

South Central was led by Westin Neilson with 20 points. He scored 10 of the 14 second quarter points. Garrett Shumate chipped in with 13 points.

Neoga was led by Porter with six.

At Altamont

Altamont and North Clay (Louisville) split wins Tuesday.

North Clay claimed the seventh-grade contest, 30-12.

Altamont was a winner in eighth-grade play, 35-32.
