Ramsey picked up two victories over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in girls junior high basketball competition Friday.

In the seventh-grade encounter, Ramsey was  30-24 winner. The two teams were tied at 8-8 at halftime before Ramsey edged ahead 16-14 going into the final period. Ramsey then had a 14-10 run.

CHBC was led by Allison Shields with 12 points and Ethel Stuckemeyer with 10. CHBC drops to 1-3.

In eighth-grade play, Ramsey edged CHBC, 28-25.

Ramsey held a one point lead at halftime then had a 15-13 second half for the win.

CHBC was led by Haley Doty with 10 points. CHBC drops to 3-1.

At Beecher City

At Altamont

 Altamont was a winner over Stewardson-Strasburg in both games Friday.

Altamont edged Stew-Stras 23-19 in the seventh-grade game.

Both teams were scoreless in the opening quarter and both tallied seven in the second period. The third quarter was decisive as Altamont had a 9-5 run.

Stew-Stras was led by Vonderheide with 10 points as the team dropped to 1-1 in the National Trail Conference and 1-1 overall.

Altamnt was led by Kuenstler with 13 points.

In the eighth-grade game, Altamont claimed a 28-12 win.

Altamont led 11-6 at halftime then had a 10-4 third quarter surge. Altamont was led by Higgs with nine points.

Stew-Stras was led by Friese and Hayes with four each as the team fell to 0-2 in the conference, 0-2 overall.
