Seattle Storm star Sue Bird announced Thursday that the current season will be her last in the WNBA.

The 41-year-old Bird, who’s one of the league's greatest players ever, said, “I feel like I’ve played as long as I can at a really high level both physically and mentally, and it’s just gotten harder.”

Bird is a four-time WNBA champion, 12-time All-Star, and five-time Olympic gold medalist. She has spent her entire WNBA career with Seattle, and while this season is her 21st with the Storm, it’s her 19th playing after missing two seasons due to injuries.
