IBCA All-Star Games Held, EHS' Schafer Scores Five

The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association 2022 All-Star Games were held during the weekend.

Effingham High School's Meredith Schafer competed for the Class 3A/4A South squad and scored five points. She connected on a regular field goal and a three-pointer.

The South squad fell to the North squad, 86-81. The South squad held a 46-39 lead in the first half but the North came back in the second half to pull out the win.

The South squad was coached by Effingham's head coach Jeff Schafer along with assistants Troy VanBlaricum, Megan Adkins and Lacy Althoff.

In the Class 1A/2A girls game, the South beat the North, 98-75.

In Class 1A/2A boys game, the South was the winner, 113-105.

The Class 3A/4A boys contest went to the South, 117-113.
