NEOGA -- Effingham St. Anthony split victories in the Neoga Freshman/Sophomore Boys Basketball Tournament Saturday.

In the opener, Teutopolis picked up a 54-41 win over St. Anthony. The Wooden Shoes held a 27-21 halftime lead then had a 15-8 third quarter run.

T-town was led in scoring by J. Niebrugge with 18 and T. Pruemer with 10.

St. Anthony was led by Nick Ruholl with 13 and Will Fearday with 11.

St. Anthony then edged Altamont, 50-47.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 17-5 opening quarter lead and led 31-16 at halftime. Altamont came back with a 17-5 third period to pull within three points. But the Bulldogs and Indians played to a 14-14 final period and St. Anthony claimed the three-point victory.

Ryan Schmidt tallied 15 for the Bulldogs while Will Fearday added 11.

Altamont was led by K. Miller with 18 and Elam with 13.

No other scores were reported.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) picked up two victories to move into the championship game of the North Clay (Louisville) Freshman/Sophomore Tournament Saturday.

North Clay won over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 54-35.

North Clay broke a 10-10 opening quarter tie with a 17-4 second period run and went on for the 18-point win.

The Cardinals were led by Wells with 12 and Poe and Hosselton with 10 points each. CHBC was led by Radloff with 10.

In the second contest, North Clay downed St. Elmo/Brownstown, 59-36.

North Clay took the early lead and never looked back.

North Clay was led by Wells with 24 and Weidner with 18.

SEB was led by Plum with 16 and Courts-Austin with 10.

North Clay will face Dieterich tonight for the championship at 7:30.
