Four players scored in double figures as Effingham St. Anthony captured a 71-27 boys high school basketball victory over Sullivan Friday.

The Bulldogs held Sullivan scoreless in the opening quarter for a 20-0 lead. The Bulldogs led 39-8 at halftime.

Kyle Stewart led the way for St. Anthony with 22 points while Griffin Sehy had 12 and Craig Croy and Max Koenig tallied 10 each.

St. Anthony captured a 53-35 junior varsity win. R. Schmidt led the Bulldogs with 15 while B. Fearday scored 12.

At St. Elmo

St. Elmo/Brownstown improved to 6-1 on the season with two victories over the weekend.

SEB scored a Friday evening National Trail Conference win over Neoga, 62-60 in overtime.

Neoga held a 29-23 halftime lead but SEB came back with an 18-9 run. Neoga then tied the game at 54-54 sending the game into overtime. SEB pulled out the win with an 8-6 run.

Five players hit double figures for the winners. Brady Maxey led the way with 17 points while Gavyn Smith and Caleb Campbell had 12 each, Adam Atwood 11 and Jarrett Pasley 10. The Eagles are 1-1 in the NTC.

Neoga was led by Quintin Richards with 19, Paci McClure with 16 and Dontye Perry with 10.

In the Saturday contest, SEB stepped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 57-33 non-conference win over Tri-County.

SEB hit 60 percent from the free throw line with a whopping 21 of 35. Pasley led the way with 14 points while Smith added 13.

Altamont claimed an 82-45 non-conference win over Vandalia Friday.

The Indians took a 20-14 opening quarter lead as Eric Kollmann scored seven points and Avery Jahraus five. The lead went to 41-30 at halftime as Mason Robinson cut loose with 10 points on two trifectas and two regular baskets.

Kollman and Jahraus scored six each in the third period with a 27-8 run and finished out strong.

Robinson and Kollman scored 16 points each for the winners while Jahraus tallied 14.

Altamont also nabbed the junior varsity matchup, 67-38. Dillan Elam scored 24 for the Indians while Jahraus added 10.

Dieterich came calilng at Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg for a National Trail Conference contest Friday evening and went home with a 63-55 win.

Bryce Budde was the leading scorer for the Movin' Maroons with 26 points on eight field goals that included three trifectas and was five of six at the line. Also in double figures were Andrew Lidy and Luke Westendorf with 10 each.

WSS was led by Austin Wittenberg with 25 points while Jordan Wittenberg added 14.

The Wooden Shoes took a 14-7 opening quarter lead and led 33-19 at halftime. Both teams tallied 15 in the third period and Tolono Unity had a 17-11 final period run.

Brendan Niebrugge and Caleb Siemer hit double figures with 16 points each for the Shoes. Max Niebrugge had five assists. Caleb Siemer led in rebounds with nine and James Niebrugge pulled down six.

In Friday play, the Pirates defeated Martinsville, 46-40.

Cumberland trailed 22-14 at halftime then had a big 15-2 third quarter surge to lead 29-24 and held off the Bluestreaks for the win.

Jaxon Boldt led the way for the Pirates with 17 points while McElravy added 12.

In the Saturday contest, the Pirates fell to Neoga, 57-50.

Neoga took a 32-20 halftime lead and led 46-37 going into the final period.

The Indians were led by Paci McClure with 16, Dontye Perry with 13 and Kaden Young with 12.

Cumberland was led by Boldt with 12 and Wiley Peters with 10.

The Tigers led 12-7 after the opening quarter and the score was knotted at 20-20 at halftime. Paris edged ahead 31-30 going into the final period then had a 17-15 lead for the win.

Newton was led by Ben Meinahrt with 20 points and Mason Schafer with 14. The Eagles fall to 1-0 in the Little Illini Conference and 4-1 overall.

Newton won the junior varsity contest, 63-54 to improve to 1-1.

The Cougars held Patoka scoreless in the opening frame while taking an 11-0 lead. South Central led 28-8 at halftime and had a 33-28 second half.

Aidan Dodson led the winners with 17 points while Keenin Willshire added 12 and Brandt Hiestand 11.

South Central edged Patoka 32-31 in junior varsity play as Rahkeim Anderson hit a two-pointer at the buzzer.

In the freshman contest, South Central won 35-17.
