WINDSOR -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg captured two victories over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in junior high girls basketball Friday evening.

 

WSS won the seventh-grade contest 29-10 to improve to 14-7 on the season and 7-2 in the National Trail Conference.

The winners held a 6-4 opening quarter lead then held CHBC scoreless to move into a 17-4 halftime tally.

Kendra Hayes scored 17 for the winners while Mya Friese added eight.

The Bobcats were led by Helena Bowlin and Gabby Wakefield with four each as the squad dropped to 6-3 in the conference, 14-7 overall.

In the eighth-grade contest, WSS held a 19-4 halftime lead and went on for a 38-17 victory.

Hayes again led the way with 13 points while Lauren Longwell added eight. The squad improved to 7-2 in the conference, 13-8 overall.

CHBC was led by Haley Doty with eight points.
