An unscheduled game turned into a season-opening win for the Effingham Lady Hearts as Effingham defeated Dieterich 47-32.

Hearts Coach Jeff Schafer was hopeful of getting a game in ahead of the Bob Kerans Tournament in Newton this coming week. Dieterich indicated they were willing to play so the girls game was played following the boys Meet the Hearts event Friday night.
