Effingham Junior High School handed Effingham St. Anthony two losses in girls basketball Monday.

The Mustangs won the seventh-grade encounter, 43-20. EJHS stepped out to a 29-10 halftime lead.

Two EJHS players finished in double figures as Martin tallied 11 and Mapes 10.

St. Anthony was led by Trupiano with eight.

In eighth-grade competition, Effingham claimed a 48-24 win.

THe Mustangs led 23-11 at halftime. In even scoring, Sidney Donaldson, Bria Beals and Saige Althoff had eight points each for Effingham.

St. Anthony was led by Kabbes with nine.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis and Charleston split victories Monday.

The Wooden Shoes were winners in seventh-grade action, 25-11. T-town improved its record to 8-1.

E. Mette and K. Niemerg led the way for the Shoes with six points each.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town held a 12-11 halftime lead and led 23-20 going into the final quarter. That's when Charleston went on a 10-4 run to pull out the 30-37 win.

C. Probst had nine points and A. Probst eight for the Shoes who fell to 3-5.
