Neoga High School won the National Trail Conference regular season and the National Trail Conference Shootout Thursday.

It's tough to beat a team three times in a season, but that's what Neoga High School accomplished in defeating Altamont, 63-52 in the National Trail Conference Girls Champions Night Shootout Thursday.

Neoga had won two earlier battles with Altamont, each time by three points. Neoga led 15-11 after one quarter, but trailed 26-22 at halftime. A huge 23-9 edge in the third quarter put Neoga up 45-35 heading into the final period and an 18-17 advantage in that quarter gave Neoga the 11-point win.

Neoga shot 36% from the field on 19 of 52 shooting, including three of four threes. Neoga made 22 of 31 foul shots, pulled down a whopping 47 rebounds and turned the ball over 18 times.

Altamont made just under 30% from the field, 18 of 61 including five of 21 threes, hit 10 of 17 free throws, grabbed 27 rebounds and turned the ball over 11 times.

Sydney Richards scored 17 points to lead Neoga, while Kylie Phillips and Audrey Ramert each scored 14 points. Also for Neoga, Abbi Hatton 6, Trista Moore 5, Haylee Campbell 4 and Avery Fearday 3. Richards pulled down 10 rebounds and had two blocked shots. Ramert had eight boards and four blocks.
