CHBC, Neoga, Altamont Pick Up Girls Victories

CHBC edged out to a 27-26 halftime lead then had a 17-7 third quarter. Gracie Heckert led the Bobcats with 24 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Mackenzie Bunch pulled down seven rebounds and Carsen Burks six. Lani Morrison had four steals and led in assists with four. Burks had three assists.
The Cougars were led by Laney Webster with 17, Sydnee Garrett with 10 and Kayli Swift with 10. South Central drops to 1-2 on the season.
CHBC improved to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in the National Trail Conference.
South Central claimed the junior varsity game, 47-24.

At Brownstown
Neoga came calling and pounded Brownstown/St. Elmo, 52-18 in National Trail Conference action Monday.
The Indians held a 16-8 opening quarter lead and pushed that to 29-12 at halftime. Neoga then had a 23-6 second half run.
Kylee Phillips led the way for Neoga with 17 points while Trista Moore contributed 12. Sydney Richards led in rebounds with nine and had two steals. Abbi Hatton had seven boards and Audrey Ramert had four rebounds, eight steals and three blocked shots.
Neoga improves to 2-0 in the National Trail Conference, 4-0 overall and hosts South Central Thursday.
BSE was led by Sidney Stine with six.
Brownstown/St. Elmo claimed the junior varsity contest, 37-26.

Altamont held a 34-25 halftime lead then had a 16-7 third quarter run and claimed a 68-54 National Trail Conference win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Monday.
Altamont's Grace Nelson scored 15 points in the second quarter and finished with 41 for the winners. Nelson connected on 16 field goals that included two three-pointers and was seven of eight at the line.
Also in double figures for the winners was Brooke Runge with 10.
Windsor/Stew-Stras was led by three players in double figures. Mikala Nichols tallied 15 while Chloe Dasenbrock scored 14 and Ella Kinkelaar 11.

North Clay (Louisville) tallied a 64-50 National Trail Conference victory over Dieterich in action Monday.
The Movin' Maroons took an 8-7 opening quarter lead but North Clay came back with a 19-10 second period run behind Chloe Lewis and Madi Lovett's six points each.
The Cardinals then had a 15-13 third quarter and outdistanced Dieterich 23-19 in the final period.
Miah Ballard tallied 26 points to lead North Clay with the bulk of her scoring in the final period with 16 points. She hit seven field goals and was 12 of 14 at the line. Lovett scored 16 with five field goals and six of seven at the line and Lewis 12. The Maroons were 24 of 31 from the three throw line.
Dieterich was led by Kaitlyn Boerngen with 17, Brooke Locey with 12 and Emily Bloemer with 10.

At Paris
Newton traveled to Paris and fell to the Tigers, 59-30 in competition Monday.
Paris ripped out to a 23-3 opening quarter lead and never looked back in this one. Rigdon tallied 23 and Young 13 for the winners.
The Eagles were led by Allison Einhorn with seven points and Whitney Zumbahlen with six. Lindsey McClain led in rebounds with five. Einhorn had three assists and Zumbahlen five blocked shots.
"We struggled early with the pressure and speed of the game," said Newton Coach Brad Harris. "After falling behind 19-0, we finally started to match their intensity. These girls will bounce back and keep getting better."
The Eagles fall to 0-1 in the Little Illini Conference and 2-1 overall.
Paris claimed the junior varsity win, 36-15.
