Bulldogs Impressive in Opening Night Win Over Neoga

The St. Anthony Bulldogs were impressive in an Opening Night 68-29 win over Neoga Friday night at the Enlow Center. The game was heard on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com

The game was close for the first few minutes, but the Bulldogs were then able to open the throttle. St. Anthony led 19-8 after one quarter, 38-13 at halftime, and 54-21 after three quarters. A 14-8 fourth quarter gave the Bulldogs the 39-point win.

St. Anthony had a great shooting night, going 27 of 48 for 56%, including 9 of 18 threes. The Bulldogs made 5 of 8 foul shots, grabbed 29 rebounds, and turned the ball over just five times.

Neoga just weren't able to get the lid off the basket consistently, making 11 of 39 shots for 28%, including 4 of 16 threes. The Indians made three of just four foul shots, turned the ball over 14 times, and pulled down 20 rebounds.

The Bulldogs' Cody Rincker used 12 players and 10 of them scored. Logan Antrim led St. Anthony with 17 points while Justin Ruholl was in double figures with 11. Also for St. Anthony, Seth Hotze had eight points, Craig Croy 7, Mick Willenborg 6, Kennan Walsh, Colton Fearday and James Schuette 5 each, and Grant Nuxoll and Ty Wiedman two points apiece. Landon Adams and Kyle Stewart also gave the Bulldogs some minutes.

Neoga was led by Nick Titus with 10 points while Paci McClure scored 7, Isaac Walk 4, Will O'Dell 3, Donte Perry and Kyle Peters 2 each, and Luke Romack 1.

Again, the game was St. Anthony's opener, while Neoga dropped to 0-2 on the young season.

St. Anthony won the JV game 58-41, with St. Anthony being led by Griffin Sehy with 15 points and Jonathan Willenborg with 10.
