ALTAMONT -- Effingham Junior High School claimed both seventh and eighth-grade victories over Altamont in boys basketball Tuesday.

The Mustangs were 55-11 winners in seventh-grade play. Effingham held a 31-6 halftime lead.

Wise tallied 15 while Bushur scored 14 for the winners. Altamont was led by Veteto with six.

in eighth-grade action, Effingham was a 56-8 winner. The Mustangs led 26-5 at halftime and had a 28-1 third period.

R. Pals scored 18 for the winners while Belcher and A. Flack tallied 12 each.

Altamont was led by Veteto with four.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis picked up two wins over Newton St. Thomas Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game 41-29 with a 13-2 opening quarter run.

Joey Probst scored 11 and Isaac McWhorter 10 for the winners.

St. Thomas was led by Meinhart and Barthelme with five points each.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town had a 23-13 run over the second and third quarters and tallied a 38-21 win.

T-town was led by Alex Kremer, Mick Niebrugge and Jacob Bushur with six each.

Bergbower led the way for St. Thomas with 11.

At CHBC

Pana St. Pat's downed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in seventh and eighth-grade action Tuesday.

Pana St. Pat's claimed the seventh-grade game, 62-12. St. Pat's led 34-8 at halftime. Lynch led the way with 20 points while Coleman added 17 and Lodge 14.

CHBC was led by Hart with eight.

In the eighth-grade contest, Pana St. Pat's picked up a 43-19 victory. Pana St. Pat's led 23-11 at halftime and held CHBC scoreless in the third quarter.

CHBC was led by Levi Moon with six points.
