Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant will have to quarantine for seven days, missing four games, after being exposed to someone who tested positive for the coronavirus, ESPN reported Monday.

The soonest he can return will be January 12 if he continues to test negative. Durant, who had Covid-19 in May, has continued to test positive for antibodies and tested negative for the virus three times in recent days.

However, the NBA’s protocols don’t exempt players who have antibodies.

Stricter Face Mask Policy Imposed

The National Basketball Association told teams Monday that it’s imposing a stricter face mask policy to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Under the tougher guidelines, which take effect today, players who are dressed for games and eligible to participate will have to wear masks in the bench area until they enter games. Additionally, players and coaches must wear masks outside the team environment if they are around other players and coaches.
