Zion Williamson finally made his long-anticipated NBA debut Wednesday night, scoring 22 points for the New Orleans Pelicans, 17 of them in the fourth quarter, in the team's 121-117 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The hometown fans greeted him with cheers, and even chanted "MVP!" during his late-game surge. Williamson, last summer's top pick in the NBA draft, missed the season until now after having surgery on his knee.
