Altamont, Neoga Win, T-town Falls

LOUISVILLE -- Altamont High School pushed its National Trail Conference and overall record higher with a 69-30 victory over North Clay (Louisville) in girls basketball action Thursday.

 

The Indians had four players scoring pretty evenly in the opening quarter for a 19-13 lead. Altamont then had six players tally scores to push ahead 45-20 at halftime. Rachel Jackman scored 11 points in the opening half while Mary Guse had 10 and Allyson Hardiek added nine.

Altamont kept on pushing with a 24-8 third period as Ellie McManaway took over with nine points.

Five players hit double figures for the winners. Jackman led the way with 17 while Guse chipped in with 14. McManaway and Allyson Hardiek had 13 each and Brooke Runge tallied 10.

North Clay was led by H. Miller and M. Holkenbrink with 10 each.

Altamont is now 5-0 in the conference and stands at 14-3 overall.

At Casey

Neoga stepped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 60-26 non-conference win over Casey-Westfield Thursday.

The Indians held a 17-9 opening quarter lead and led 30-13 at halftime.

Titus led the Indians with 19 points. Olivia Titus connected on four three-pointers.

Neoga improves to 9-10 on the season and will play host to Cumberland Saturday.

At Paris

Teutopolis dropped a 55-44 loss at the hands of Paris Thursday evening. It's the second time in two weeks, the Wooden Shoes have lost to Paris. The Tigers won the Charleston Holiday Tournament by beating T-town 44-35 in overtime for the championship.

This time around, the Wooden Shoes edged out to an 11-10 opening quarter lead but the Tigers got on a roll and led 20-18 at halftime. Paris had a 20-19 third period and put the game away in the final quarter.

The Tigers were led by Sarah Isaf with 24 points. She hit four three-pointers. Karrington Krabel chipped in with 12.

T-town was led by Lexie Niebrugge and Ciara Roepke with 14 points each. Roepke connected on four three-pointers, three in the third quarter. Niebrugge led in rebounding with seven.

The Wooden Shoes could get revenge at the end of the season as they are in the same sub-sectional as Paris.
