Texas defeated Lipscomb 81-66 to win the NIT college basketball championship last night at Madison Square Garden. It was the Longhorns’ first NIT title since 1978.

 

Beard Named AP Coach of Year

Chris Beard of Texas Tech was named the Associated Press men’s college basketball coach of the year Thursday. Beard can add to his legacy as Texas Tech takes on Michigan State in this weekend’s Final Four action.
