South Central Downs Dieterich In Boys Basketball

FARINA -- South Central High School handed Dieterich a 59-42 National Trail Conference boys basketball loss Monday evening. The game had been rescheduled from two earlier postponements.

The Cougars edged out to a 20-19 opening quarter lead as Logan Lotz scored seven points. Evan Bohnhoff kept the Movin' Maroons in the contest with three trifectas for nine points while Derek Kuhl added six.

South Central led 32-29 at halftime and 41-35 going into the final quarter. From there, South Central connected on eight of eight from the free throw line and Lotz finished strong with 10 points in the quarter while Daniel Roberts added six.

Lotz tallied 21 to lead the way while Collin Miller added 14 and Roberts finished with 11.

Dieterich was led by Kuhl with 16 and E. Bohnhoff with 12.

South Central improved to 3-4 in the NTC and 15-12 overall. The Cougars are back in action tonight at Sandoval.

Dieterich will play host to Patoka in Friday night play.
