TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School played host to Mount Zion and claimed a 57-29 victory over the Braves Tuesday in boys basketball action.

The Wooden Shoes zipped out to a 16-5 opening quarter lead and led 29-15 at halftime. T-town then had a solid 16-2 third period.

T-town's Clint Weber, a 6-foot-7 senior, led the way with 23 points. He connected on 11 field goals and was one of one at the line. The Shoes had six three-pointers in the contest led by Luke Ungrund with two.

Little Okaw Valley Tournament

Villa Grove-Heritage and Tri-County advanced in the Little Okaw Valley Tournament, SE Division Tuesday evening.

Villa Grove-Heritage edged Hutsonville/Palestine, 71-68 in the first contest.

In the second game, Tri-County defeated Cumberland, 66-52. Tri-County edged out to a 16-13 opening quarter lead and led 30-25 at halftime. Tri-County had a 19-15 third quarter behind Lee scoring 11 points.

Hutchinson led the way for Tri-County with 21 points followed by Lee with 16 and Pollock with 11. Tri-County now meets Villa Grove-Heritage at 8 p.m. Friday for the championship of the SE Division.

Cumberland was led by Brennyn Cutts with 17 and Zach Wolke with 16. The Pirates will face Hutsonville/Palestine at 6:30 p.m. Friday for third place.

Little Illini Conference Tournament

Casey-Westfield and Olney will meet for the championship of the Little Illini Conference Tournament after picking up victories Tuesday in the Little Illini Conference Tournament.

Casey-Westfield beat Red Hill (Bridgeport) 73-67 in overtime. Olney then downed Marshall 63-51.

In the opening game in consolation bracket play, Lawrenceville won over Paris, 73-62. Lawrenceville takes on Newton at 6 p.m. today for the right to advance to the consolaton championship.
