TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis hosted Effingham and Champaign Jefferson in boys basketball competition Saturday.
In seventh-grade action Champaign Jefferson downed Effingham, 43-27 while T-town beat the Mustangs, 47-13. The Wooden Shoes also claimed a victory over Champaign Jefferson, 41-34.
In eighth-grade competition, Champaign Jefferson edged Effingham, 37-35. T-town beat Effingham, 44-17 and won over Champaign Jefferson, 39-29.

At Newton
Jasper County split close victories with Marshall Saturday.
In the seventh-grade game, Jasper County won 49-42. Jasper County held a 27-16 halftime lead but Marshall came back in the final period but couldn't make up that first half deficit.
Caden Nichols tallied 18 while Isaac Flowers scored 14 for the winners.
In eighth-grade action, Marshall edged Jasper County, 17-16. Jasper County led 8-6 at halftime but the score was tied at 9-9 going into the final quarter. Marshall then took the victory.
Owen Mahaffey had seven for Jasper County.

At Central City
Altamont Lutheran Interparish handed North Clay (Louisville) a 54-42 loss in th eCentral City Eighth-Grade Shootout Saturday.
Altamont Lutheran stepped out to a 17-9 opening quarter lead and led 32-15 at halftime. North Clay mounted a comeback with a 16-8 third period but Lutheran got back on track with a 14-11 final period.
Logan Cornett scored 27 for the winners while Nathan Shepard added 10 and Avery Jahraus nine for Altamont.
North Clay was led by Fleener and Boose with 13 each and Smith with 12.
