Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, Altamont and North Clay (Louisville) moved into the final four of the National Trail Conference Eighth-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament Wednesday.

CHBC opened the evening's contests with a 32-23 win over Neoga. CHBC held a 17-12 halftime lead and had a 12-8 final quarter run.

Heckert tallied 16 for the winners while Wojcik added nine. Neoga was led by Richards with 11 and Johnson with 10.

In the second game, Altamont edged Sigel St. Michael, 26-25. The Sharpshooters took a 16-10 halftime lead on Altamont. Altamont then had a 6-2 third quarter and tied the game at 22-22 sending it into overtime. In the overtime period, Altamont continued to outscore St. Michael for the victory.

Nelson led Altamont with 11 points. St. Michael was led by Niebrugge with 15.

In the final game of the evening, North Clay zipped out to a 14-0 opening quarter lead and never looked back in the 34-8 victory.

Conley tallied 10 while Ballard, Holkenbrink and Czyzonski scored six each in even scoring.

Stew-Stras/Windsor was led by Kinkelaar, Wernsing, Sayers and Weeden with two points each.
