Three area players Named H.M. in All-State Girls Cage Teams

Three players players earned Honorable Mention on the Class 1A and Class 2A All-State High School girls basketball teams as voted on by a statewide panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.

Named Honorable Mention on the Class 1A Team was Megan Schlechte. Schlechte is a 5-foot-10 junior forward who plays for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.

Named Honorable Mention on the Class 2A Team were Sadie Bueker, a 5-foot-9 junior guard, who plays for Teutopolis and Abby Frohning, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, who plays for Newton.

Named to the Class 1A First Team were Jordan VanHyfte (Annawan), Anayz Peoples (Danville Schlarman), Hailey Chubb (Gallatin County), Lexi Loftus (LaMoille-Ohio) and Emiliy Offenhesier (Stockton).

Named to the 1A Second Team were Capria Brown (Danville Schlarman), Brittney Litton (Kewanee Wethersfield), Jaynee Prestegaard (Ashton-Franklin Center), Lucy Waid (Princeville) and Paige Robinson (Okaw Valley).

Named to the Class 2A First Team were Tessa Leman (Eureka), Anna Murray (Princeton), Matty Hawkins (Harrisburg), Sammi Matoush (Hillsboro) and Baylee Clampitt (Illini West)

Named to the 2A Second Team were Summer Cramer (Watseka), Alyssa Iverson (Elgin Harvest Christian), Laney Lantz (Central Southeastern), Mady Harper (Midwest Central) and Paige Veronda (Putnam County).
