Effingham captured a freshman/sophomore girls basketball win over Mahomet-Seymour Saturday.

The Hearts pounded out to a 25-5 opening half lead and never looked back.

Armstrong led eight players in scoring with nine points. Diveley chipped in with seven.

At Teutopolis

In freshman/sophomore boys action Saturday, Teutopolis defeated Flora in both games.

The Wooden Shoes won the freshman contest 58-32. T-town held a 39-7 halftime lead and never looked back.

Jordan Hardiek tallied 18 while Kolton Koester scored 13.

In the sophomore contest, T-town tallied a 61-37 victory.

The Shoes led only 8-7 after the opening quarter but pushed that to 26-17 at halftime. The Shoes had a 35-20 second half.

Brady McMahon led in scoring with 15 while Evan Addis tallied 14 and Jordan Hardiek 11.
