Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor split regular season victories Friday evening.

CHBC won the seventh-grade contest 32-21 to finish out 9-0 in the National Trail Conference and stands at 18-4 overall.

CHBC was led in scoring by Gracie Heckert with 11 points. SSW was led by Wernsing with 14. SSW finishes NTC play at 1-8 and is 4-18 overall.

In the eighth-grade contest, Stew-Stras/Windsor was a 28-23 winner to finish at 1-8 in the conference and stands at 2-17 overall.

SSW trailed CHBC 22-18 going into the final quarter then had a 10-1 run to pull out the win. Hayes tallied 12 for SSW while Tatyana Duckwitz scored 12 for CHBC.

The two teams then met Saturday in the Class 72A South Central Regional.

The opening game featured South Central edging Altamont 27-23.

CHBC then met SSW for the second time in two days and claimed a 44-15 victory.

CHBC held WSS scoreless in the opening quarter for a 10-0 lead and never looked back. Mady Wojcik tallied 24 for the winners. Vonderheide led SSW with six.

Tonight's games feature South Central against Nokomis at 6:15 followed by CHBC facing St. Elmo/Brownstown at 7:30.

Class 7-2A St. Anthony Regional

Neoga handed Palestine a 21-19 loss in opening round play at the St. Anthony Regional Saturday.

Neoga trailed 6-4 after the opening quarter and 15-8 at halftime. Palestine/Hutsonville still held a 19-14 lead going into the final quarter when Neoga held the squad scoreless and pulled out the victory.

Richard tallied 12 for Neoga.

In the second game, St. Anthony pounded Oblong 34-4. The Bullpups pushed into a 13-0 opening quarter lead and held Oblong scoreless in the whole first half for a 25-0 lead.

Fearday tallied nine points for the winners.

Neoga faces North Clay (Louisville) at 6 p.m. today followed by St. Amthony taking on Casey-Westfield at 7:15.

Class 7-1A Dieterich Regional

Only one game was contested Saturday at the Dieterich Regional.

Effingham Sacred Heart outlasted Martinsville 13-7. The Shamrocks led 9-3 at halftime. Albert led Sacred Heart with six points.

The Shamrocks will now face Sigel St. Michael at 6 p.m. today followed by Dieterich taking on Ramsey at 7:15.

Class 7-3A Lawrenceville Parkview Regional

Jasper County saw its season come to an end at the Lawrenceville Parkeview Regional.

Marshall claimed the 23-18 victory.

In the second contest, Robinson Nuttall downed Red Hill (Bridgeport) 32-13. Parkview then edged Edwards County (Albion) 15-13.

Tonight's games feature Teutopolis meeting Marshall at 5 followed by Robinson Nuttall against Lawrenceville Parkview at 6:30.

 

Class 7-3A Sullivan Regional

Cumberland went down to defeat in the opening game at the Sullivan Regional Saturday.

Arthur claimed the first game 19-12 over Cumberland.

The second contest went to Shelbyville Moulton over Sullivan 29-134.

Arthur faces Paris Mayo at 6 p.m. today followed by Tuscola East Prairie against Shelbyville Moulton at 7:15.

 

Class 7-4A Effingham Regional

Only one game was on tap at the Effingham Regional.

Urbana downed Danville North Ridge 18-8.

Urbana now advances to face Effingham at 6 p.m. today followed by Charleston against Mattoon at 7:30.
