Effingham High School's Grant Wolfe has signed a letter of intent to play college basketball for Illinois Wesleyan University.

Grant, the son of David and Angie Wolfe, said he will likely play more as a point guard for Wesleyan. He expects last season's point guard to switch to more of a shooting guard position next season.

Wolfe will graduate from EHS as one of the school's all-time leading scorers. He also played football for the Flaming Hearts. He asked all of his coaches to appear in his signing ceremony photo, saying they all played a part in his development.

The Wolfe family is a tight-knit bunch, and Grant said that was also a factor in signing with Wesleyan, which is located in Bloomington. He hopes to get home for his siblings' ballgames and allowing for them to come and watch him play. He is also excited about the relationship he's developed with Titans' Coach Ron Rose and also pointed toward the academic success of the school as another factor in deciding to attend Wesleyan. He plans to focus on his required courses and remain uncommitted as to a major his first year, but expects to pursue some sort of business degree.
