Freshman/Sophomore Boys Basketball Results -- Jan. 21

Effingham St. Anthony and Altamont split victories in boys freshman/sophomore basketball action Saturday.

The Bulldogs won the freshman contest 47-42. St. Anthony held a 31-21 halftime lead. Altamont came back with a 13-2 second period to take a 34-33 lead. But the Bulldogs got back on track with a 14-8 final period to pull out the victory.

Dust tallied 26 for the winners. Altamont was led by Duckwitz with 13.

In the sophomore contest, Altamont took a 56-44 victory. The score was tied at 26-26 at halftime. Altamont then edged ahead with a 14-10 third period and outscored the Bulldogs 16-8 in the final quarter.

Biggs tallied 24 for the winners while Duckwitz scored 10.

St. Anthony was led by Dust with 13 and Brandenburger with 10.
