TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis handed Effingham two losses in girls freshman/sophomore basketball competition Tuesday.

T-town claimed the freshman game 46-32. The Shoes took a 26-17 halftime lead. Morgan Mette scored 11 and Julia Frey 10 for the Shoes.

Effingham was led by Natalie Carie with 10 and Becca Webster with 10.

In the sophomore contest, Teutopolis nabbed a 53-22 win. The Shoes held a 34-11 halftime lead. Macy Michels scored 17 and Shanna Niebrugge 11.

Effingham was led by Hannah Taylor with six.
