Effingham claimed two wins over Robinson Nuttall in girls junior high basketball competition Tuesday evening.

The Mustangs won the seventh-grade game 34-9 with a 22-3 halftime lead. Rueter and Diveley tallied 10 points each for the winners who improve to 13-4.

In eighth-grade play, Effingham won 23-7.  The Mustangs took a 12-3 lead at halftime. Krouse scored seven as Effingham improved to 5-12.

At Effingham

Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick claimed two wins over Effingham St. Anthony Tuesday evening.

BCCH improved to 16-3 with a 22-15 win in the seventh-grade contest. Sydney Lorton tallied eight while Carsen Burks had seven for the winners. St. Anthony was led by Elizabeth Kabbes with eight.

In the eighth-grade game, BCCH edged the Bullpups 41-40 in triple overtime to improve to 11-8. St. Anthony took a 13-7 first half lead before BCCH came back in the second half with a 22-16 run to tie the score. The game went through three overtimes before BCCH had a 5-4 run.

Lauren Wojcik tallied 15 and Jaelyn Robertson 14 for the winners. Jessica Coffin led St. Anthony with 11.

At Pana

Teutopolis handed Pana a 23-8 loss in the seventh-grade game to improve to 13-7 on the season.

Carly Michels tallied 15 points for the Shoes.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town had an 11-8 halftime lead then outscored Pana 14-3 in the third period for the 31-14 victory. Olivia Niemerg scored 10 for the winners. T-town moved its record to a whopping 20-0.

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor came out the winner in both seventh and eighth-grade play over Dieterich Tuesday.

SSW claimed the seventh-grade contest 32-6 to improve to 12-7 on the season. Megan Nichols scored 12 and Hayes 10 for the winners. Dieterich was led by Meinhart with four.

In the eighth-grade contest, SSW edged Dieterich 19-16 with a big 10-2 opening quarter lead. Davis and Arthur scored six each for the winners who improve to 5-13. Johnson led Dieterich with eight.

At Sigel

Jasper County and Sigel St. Michael split victories Tuesday evening.

St.  Michael captured the seventh-grade win 35-17. St. Michael took a 12-2 opening quarter lead. Niebrugge scored 14 and Bueker 13 for the winners. Jacey Parr scored six for Jasper County.

In the eighth-grade contest, Jasper County edged St. Michael 34-31. St. Michael held an 18-16 halftime lead and led 25-21 going into the final quarter. Jasper County mounted a comeback and outscored St. Michael 13-6 to pick up the victory.

Renae Russell scored seven for the winners. Bueker tallied 16 for St. Michael while Niebrugge added 10.
