MTC, Nashville, Salem Tourney Scores

The finals for the Midland Trail Conference Boys Basketball Tournament have been set after Thursday's contests.

Woodlawn moved into the championship game with a 71-39 victory over Waltonville. Odin also moved into the title contest by downing Cisne 54-47.

Clay City edged North Clay (Louisville) 59-56 to claim ninth place.

Tonigiht's games feature Webber Township (Bluford) against Sandoval at 6:30 p.m. for the consolation championship and Cisne taking on Waltonville at 8 p.m. for third place.

The championship game, featuring Woodlawn and Odin, will be Saturday at 7 p.m.

 

Salem Invitational Tournament

Two games were contested in the Salem Invitaitonal Tournament Thursday evening.

In the opener, Mount Vernon won over Mattoon 51-32. The second contest went to Edwardsville who pounded Salem 54-33.

Tonight's contests will feature Effingham against Centralia at 6:30 p.m. followed by Mount Vernon taking on Edwardsville at 8. The winners advance to the title contest Saturday at 8 p.m. while the losers will play for third place at 5 p.m.

Saturday's games feature Lovejoy meeting Marion at 11:30 a.m. followed by Mattoon taking on Salem at 1 p.m. in the consolation bracket. The winners advance to the consy championship game at 6:30 p.m.

 

Nashville Invitaitonal Tournament

Teutopolis had a bye evening at the Nashville Invitational Tournament.

Two games were on tap and Breese Mater Dei won over Mascoutah 58-44. Nashville then downed Breese Central 48-28.

Tonight's games in the round robin meet will feature T-town facing Mascoutah at 6:30 p.m. and Breese Central going against Breese Mater  Dei at 8. The tourney finishes out Saturday with T-town against Central at 6:30 and Mater Dei facing Nashville at 8.

At this point in the tournament, Teutopolis is unbeaten at 2-0 while Nashville sports a 2-1 mark, Breese Central 1-1, Breese Mater Dei 1-1 and Mascoutah 0-3.
